Well logarithm is basically the inverse of exponentiation.
If you want to know how to calculate it in a calculator first you enter the number that you want in there. Then you press the inverse button and then lastly you press the botton that looks like this 10^3

### Which calculation should be completed first to solve this story problem? Allister bought some sheet music. He bought 6 songs for $0.99 each and 1 book for$16.99. He paid $1.38 in sales tax. He gave the cashier$50. How much change should Allister get? A. total cost of all the purchases B. total cost of 6 songs C. sum of the cost of 1 song, the book, and the tax D. the change

A. total cost of all the purchases

You can't calculate the sales tax on the sheet music or the change for $50 he would have received (which requires subtracting the total cost from$50) until you know how much the sheet music cost total.

The B) and C) options aren't  relevant to the problem. You're trying to find the amount of change he gets after paying the total cost for all the sheet music + the tax on that.

### The function f(x) = 396(3)x represents the growth of a dragonfly population every year in a remote swamp. Pierre wants to manipulate the formula to an equivalent form that calculates every month, not every year. Which function is correct for Pierre's purposes?

The require function is represents the growth of a dragonfly in every months.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The function represents the growth of a dragonfly population every year in a remote swamp.

To find : The function represent the growth every month.

Solution :

Let x represents the number of years.

In 1 year there is 12 months

In x years there is 12x months

The given function is in exponential form

where, a is initial value,  r is growth rate , (1+r) is growth rate factor

Comparing the given equation with general form

growth of dragonfly every year

To convert into months time is multiply with 12 and growth rate is divisible by 12.

Therefore, The require function is represents the growth of a dragonfly in every months.

### Six squash balls are packaged in a cylindrical container. Calculate the volume of air inside the container in terms of the radius r (Hint: volume of container minus volume of 6 squash balls

In order to fit 6 squash balls into a cylinder container, the radius r has to be the same for the ball and for the base of the cylinder, and the height h of the container must be equal to 6 diameters d or 12 radii of the ball. Volume of the ball and the container is:

Vb=(4/3)r³π, Vc=r²πh, h is the height of the cylindrical container.
h=12r.

So now the volume of the cylinder is:
Vc=r²π*12r=12r³π.

There are 6 balls so their total volume is:
6*Vb=6*(4/3)*r³*π=(24/3)*r³π=8r³π.

Now we subtract the volume of 6 balls from the volume of the cylinder to get the volume of air Va inside the cylinder:

Va=Vc-6*Vb=12r³π-8r³π=4r³π.

So the volume of air inside of the cylinder is Va=4r³π

Five summaries of Town B
Lowest value = 0
Lower Quartile,  = 4 (The middle value between 0 and 8)
Median,  = 9
Upper Quartile,  = 20 (The middle value between 19 and 21)
Highest Value = 30

The box plot for two towns is shown in the diagram below.
