What involves organizing and breaking down information into easier groups to expand capacity?

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Chunking involves organizing and breaking down information into easier groups to expand capacity. Rehearsal is the verbal repetition of information. These techniques are especially important for the improvement of short-term memory.

Chunking allows you to take information and put it in small categories or groups for better understanding. This way you allow your memory to better understanding a piece of information. Is like when you try to remember a phone number. Instead of memorizing the whole number, you dive it by parts. So if you repeat that information through rehearsal, you will be able to remember most things needed on a daily basis.

I know this isnt history but i really really need help explain Senator Stephen DouglasÍ attempts at securing a bid for the Presidency. Be sure to include specific examples, as well as background information regarding DouglasÍ career.

Douglas supported the Dred Scott Supreme Court decision of 1857, and denied that it was part of a Southern plot to introduce slavery in the Northern states; but also argued it could not be effective when the people of a territory declined to pass laws supporting it. when President James Buchanan and his Southern allies attempted to pass a Federal slave code, to support slavery even against the wishes of the people of Kansas, he battled and defeated this movement as undemocratic. this caused the split in the Democratic Party in 1860, as Douglas won the nomination but a breakaway southern faction nominated their own candidate, Vice President John C. Breckinridge. Douglas deeply believed in democracy, arguing the will of the people should always be decisive. when civil war came in April 1861, he rallied his supporters to the Union with all his energies, but he died a few weeks later.

1. Which of the following is not a highly effective study habit as outlined by John Grohol, Psy.D.? A- Outline and rewrite your notes. B- Make a schedule you can stick to. C- Bring everything you need, nothing you don't. D- Don't get up until you've learned all you are suppose to. 2. A memory game or mnemonic device is? A- A method for remembering pieces of information using a simple association of common words. B- Linking a number to each item you are studying. C- Visualize what you're studying. D- A game on your smartphone.

1. I believe the answer is: D. Don't get up until you've learned all you are suppose to.

According to Grohol, it took time and patience for all individuals to acquire new skills. The problem arise when people start to give up in the middle of the way thinking that they do not have what it takes to acquire it. Because of this, Grohol felt that it is important for learners to not get up until you've learned all you are suppose to.

2. I believe the answer is: A. A method for remember pieces of information using a simple association of common words.

The main purpose of such association is to utilize both our left and right brain hemisphere in order to make the memorizing process more efficient. By associating pieces of information with common words, it is far more easier for us to retrieve the information from memory because the common words would act as a trigger for the retrieval.
