Find the distance between these points. C(0, 4), T(-6, -3) √(37) √(85) √(109)

The distance between 2 points C and T with their coordinates given is as follows:

C(x₁ , y₁) and T(x₂ , y₂) OR C(0,4) and T(-6,-3)

CT=√[(x₂ - x₁)² + (y₂ - y₁)²] =√[(-6-0)² + (-3 - 4)²]

CT=√[(36) + (49)} = CT = √85

You usually buy a 16.5 -ounce bottle of shampoo. There is a new bottle that says it gives you 30% more free. What is the best equation

Answer:

The best equation is y= 16.5+0.3x

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The bottle contain 16.5-ounce bottle of shampoo

A new bottle gives 30% more free in it

i.e. original+30% of original = new

16.5+0.3(16.5)= 21.45 amount of shampoo is in new bottle

so the best equation to define the answer is y= 16.5+0.3x

where x=16.5

Line segment WX is the radius of circle X, and line segment ZY is the radius of circle Y. Points W, X, C, Y, and Z are all on line segment WZ. What is the area of circle C, which passes though points W and Z? 81 164 324 1296

Point D is the midpoint of the outer circle that we aim to find the area of

The circle has a diameter of WZ and radii of WC and CZ

We know that YZ=YD=10 cm

Let DC be x and CY be 10-x

The radius of the outer circle can be written as 8+8+x or 10+10-x which we can equate to find the value of x

8+8+x=10+10-x
16+x=20-x
2x=4
x=2

Therefore, the radius of the circle is 8+8+2=18

And hence the area of the circle is   \pi (18^{2})=324 \pi

QUESTION POSTED AT 17/10/2019 - 08:52 AM

Staci has 8 3/8 liters of paint and uses 5 3/4 liters of it. How much paint does Staci have left? Give your answer in simplest form.

We will use subtraction to solve this. We will subtract 5 3/4 from 8 3/8, because we must take away the amount she used.

8 3/8 - 5 3/4

The easiest way to solve this is to convert to fractions.

67/8 - 23/4

We must create common denominators to solve this. We will multiply both 23 and 4 from the second fraction by 2 to get to a common denominator of 8.

67/8 - 46/8 = 21/8

We will then convert this fraction back to a mixed number.

21/8 = 2 5/8

2 5/8 liters is our final answer

What is the next number in the sequence? 1, 4, 13, 40, 121,...

The pattern here is the number times 3 then plus 1

We can check this by plugging it in.

1×3=3
3+1=4
4 is the next number in our sequence so the pattern works.

We can continue to check this with the rest of our sequence.

4×3=12
12+1=13
13 is the next number in our sequence so the pattern works.

13×3=39
39+1=40
40 is the next number in our sequence so the pattern works.

40×3=120
120+1=121
121 is the next number in our sequence so the pattern works.

We can find the next numbed in the sequence by continuing the patter
121×3=363
363+1=364

So the next number in the sequence is 364

Identify the reflection of the figure with vertices P (2, −12), Q (−3, 13), and R (−5, −15) across the x-axis. P (−2, −12), Q (3, 13), R (5, −15) P (2, 12), Q (−3, −13), R (−5, 15) P (−12, 2), Q (13, −3), R (−15, −5) P (12, 2), Q (−13, −3), R (15, −5)

Reflections across the x-axis  leaves the x  coordinates the same but the y coordinates  change sign

so point P (2,-12) is reflected to (2, 12)
So now you can identify the correct choice

Which best describes how to get from the origin to the point (–6, 9)? a Move 6 units down, then 9 units to the right. b Move 6 units to the left, then 9 units up. c Move 6 units to the left, then 9 units down. d Move 6 units down, then 9 units to the left.

I believe the correct answer is B. To get from the origin to the point (-6, 9), you have to move 6 units to the left, then 9 units up. In the cartesian coordinate, the vertical axis represents y and the horizontal represents x. The left and down directions are negative and the right and up directions are positive. Since the x value of the point is negative so we have to move to the left direction and since y value is positive we go to the up direction.

Which of the following points lies on the circle whose center is at the origin and whose radius is 10? (sq root of 10, 0) (0, 2 square root of 5) (5 sqr2, 5 sqr2 )

Since the standard form of the circle is:

(x-h)^2+(y-k)^2=r^2, and (h,k)=(0,0) and r=10 so we have:

x^2+y^2=100   Looking at the points you have:

(√10, 0) does not work as (√10)^2+0^2=10+0=10

(0, 2√5) does not work as 0^2+(2√5)^2=0+20=20

(5√2, 5√2) works as (5√2)^2+(5√2)^2=50+50=100
