To describe the location in three-dimensional space of a deformed rock layer or a fault surface, geologists make measurements known as dip and strike.

Geography 18/01/2020 10:18 AM answersmine

Answer:

Image is given below for reference.

Explanation:

  • Stress and strain cause the rocks to form folds and they get deformed as they are two types of deformation that are plastic and the elastic deformation as in the elastic deformation rock return to the original state and in plastic, the rock gets broken if out of there shapes.
  • Under these conditions, the rock is likely to get fractured. Theses are built-in greater depths that have a high temperature and high pressure. sudden stress often leads to plastic deformation.
  • Hence the geologist makes use of the dip and the strike measurements as the slip show the distance from where the rocks have moved along the fault and thus can be up and down the fault plane.
  • And the angle that lies to the horizontal surface of the earth thus is joined as the dip and hence is a relatively horizontal plane to the deformed rocks thus helps them to estimate the stress that the rocks have.

What is a true hysical change

Geography 18/01/2020 10:12 AM answersmine
Hello!

An example of a physical change would be an ice cube melting, as well as an ice cube forming. When an ice cube melts, it is converting from a solid to a liquid. The substance(s) that make up the ice cube have remained the same, but its appearance is very different. As well with an ice cube forming, the water making the ice cube is still the same substance, instead of just being a liquid, it turns into a solid.

What evidence did Galileo use to support Copernicus’s model and disprove Aristotle and Ptolemy? Check all that apply. Jupiter has moons orbiting it. The Sun moves from east to west. Planets appear to move backward. Venus has phases similar to the moon’s. The religious and cultural beliefs supported this model.

Geography 18/01/2020 10:00 AM answersmine
Galileo built his own telescope made observations that made people believe in Copernicus's sun-centered solar system model called the heliocentric model. The observations include:

1.       Jupiter has moons orbiting it.

In addition, Galileo saw the planet's moons were moving with it.

2.       The Sun moves from east to west.

Galileo observed that the Sun has spots. The changing number(/appearance) of sunspots visible from Earth concludes that the Sun rotates on its own axis.

3.       Planets appear to move backward.

He observed that planets were moving in retrograde direction, appearing to move westward.

4.       Venus has phases similar to the moon's. This established that Venus is circling the Sun, not Earth.   .

The statement is T (True).

USA has abandoned the old agricultural way of having lots of small farms and lose fertile soil in between them, and also have an uncontrolled production of multiple products by choice. Instead they turned their farming into large farm production that has a specific orientation and is demanded on the market. This lead to making the large farms the dominant agricultural producer in the USA by far.
