How do the Brandt line, Walt Rostow's Modernization model, neocolonialism, and Wallerstein's world systems theory inform and intersect with each other when explaining economic development?

These models provide various explanations for the disparities in economic development. Wallerstein’s world systems theory divides the world into core, semi-periphery, and periphery nations. According to this theory, core nations are highly developed nations, semi-periphery are developing nations, and periphery are underdeveloped nations. This theory intersects with the Brandt Line model of economic geography in that most underdeveloped nations fall within the Brandt Line, which divides the world between the North and South, the North being developed nations. Furthermore, according to Wallerstein, core and periphery nations work together for their developmental needs. Yet, from a neocolonialist perspective, these core nations also once were the colonizers of the peripheral nations. As a result, they continue to dictate the underdeveloped nations' economies and trade, and subsequently, their independence. Economic growth is required for periphery countries to move from subsistence/agricultural economies to industrialization, as the Rostow Modernization model demands.

Yes-- if global warming really were occurring, cold snaps wouldn’t happen. Yes—due to global warming, weather patterns should be become less—not more—variable.

No—although the long-term trend is for warming, short-term weather patterns can still be variable.
Up until now, Global warming is still somehow complicated to determine since there are too many factors that could influence Earth Temperature, but we still haven't got sufficient technologies to gather all the data.

Which of the following statements best explains the cause of the great fire of Rome in 65 CE? A. The homes were made of wooden materials and built close together, allowing the fire to spread quickly. B. Sparks from a volcanic eruption set the neighboring countryside on fire before spreading quickly throughout the city. C. Poor sanitation caused gutters to back up with debris, lessening the city’s ability to respond with adequate water resources and allowing the fire to spread quickly. D. An invading army from Judea set the city’s temple on fire; the rest of the city caught fire quickly, and the city was destroyed.

During the night of July 18, 64 AD, fire broke out in the merchant area of the city of Rome. Fanned by summer winds, the flames quickly spread through the dry, wooden structures of the Imperial City. Soon the fire took on a life of its own consuming all in its path for six days and seven nights. When the conflagration finally ran its course it left seventy percent of the city in smoldering ruins.

Rumors soon arose accusing the Emperor Nero of ordering the torching of the city and standing on the summit of the Palatine playing his lyre as flames devoured the world around him. These rumors have never been confirmed. In fact, Nero rushed to Rome from his palace in Antium (Anzio) and ran about the city all that first night without his guards directing efforts to quell the blaze. But the rumors persisted and the Emperor looked for a scapegoat. He found it in the Christians, at that time a rather obscure religious sect with a small following in the city. To appease the masses, Nero literally had his victims fed to the lions during giant spectacles held in the city's remaining amphitheater.

From the ashes of the fire rose a more spectacular Rome. A city made of marble and stone with wide streets, pedestrian arcades and ample supplies of water to quell any future blaze. The debris from the fire was used to fill the malaria-ridden marshes that had plagued the city for generations.

The theory of plate tectonics explains the movement of the plates by convection cells in which of the following layers A.outer layer B.upper mantle C.inner core D.crust

The correct answer is - B. upper mantle.

The theory of the plate tectonics uses the convection cells in the upper mantle layer as the foundation for the movement of the continents.

To put it simple the process is explained like the convection cells create a lot of pressure, that pressure, supported by the high temperatures and magma, influence the crust above, and manage to crack it on certain places. As the crust cracks, it becomes a separate entity, and under the enormous force from bellow it slowly moves into a particular direction, and that is actually the movement of the tectonic plates.
